Day #10, #11

Ok, so everything has been a bitttt crazy lately. I am kinda trying not to ride the self-pity train:

-my job at Suzie's is ending in June (I hate it anyway, so I'm glad it is ending, I just know I have to find something else too, so that's stressful)

-my roommate has bailed on me.

-started working at a Farmer's Market every other Saturday, and soon it will be every Tuesday night.

So, I've been freezing food I'm supposed to throw away from work because I'm thinking that I will probably try to see how long I can last without a job after this ends because I am so busy with church stuff and my new job at the Farmers market, plus volunteering once a week at Room in the Inn, that I think I might feel better without getting another job right away. Full-time ministry is starting to sound soooo appealing to me : /

I don't know if I've thrown things away in the last few days, but today I cleaned out a big wooden box full of fabric scraps, then I put the box itself into the Yard Sale pile! I also put my old adorable yellow wallet in there, I really like it, but it's been in a bag in my closet for the last year or more.

Day #6, 7, 8 and 9!

My roommate moved out and took her wireless router, so I don't have internet at home till I figure out if I can get a free router, or if I should just cancel it for now. Anyway! I have still been following my challenge, and I've actually put a lot of stuff into the yard sale pile and trash in the last few days:
Probably at least 30 necklaces I don't wear
Almost as many bracelets
another handful of unused makeup
a half packet of rice that I used to try to dry out my cell phone
A jewelry box that was filled with shells from South Africa...the shells I am not sure if I will keep or what I should do with them. Maybe I will make another mobile with them.
And I know I put some other things in my yard sale pile, but I don't remember.

So far I have no regrets, but the things I've gotten rid of are so inconsequential that I don't really feel much relief yet. I still look around at my house and think "I have so much I don't need!" Well I still have 91 days!

Day #5

Continuing the bathroom purge: Peppermint scented "Foot scrub" that someone bought for me in high school and I have used maybe 2x a year since then.

Day #4

I wanted to do something a little more challenging today. So I got rid of all the bandanas I keep "just in case" I ever want to wear one...which I never ever do, cause I look awful in bandanas. I kept 1 just in case, but put about 5 or 6 in the yard sale pile, freeing up a drawer in the bathroom to put all of the items I haven't gotten around to throwing away yet into. So far, the hardest part for me is only throwing away 1 thing (or type of things) a day, not actually finding something to throw away.

Day #3

Threw away (actually, I recycled it) a bottle of sun tan lotion from like, 1987.

Day #2

Today I threw away a bottle of Aloe Vera that I took from my house in Lakeland when I came to Nashville to live with my sister before college. I took it through 4 years of college, 4 different rooms, the tree house, an apartment, and now my little house. Now I'm taking it to the trash.

When I was in Florida for Cayla's wedding, she gave me a new bottle of Aloe Vera. I'm putting it in the yard sale pile. If I burn, I will suffer. But I can't live my life waiting for something bad to happen.
