Laugh so You Don't Cry

We'll rent a comedy
Rewind the best parts and we'll
memorize the lines.
You can call everyone
and they can come over
if it get things off your mind.

Yeah, I've got a couple ideas
Tell me if you're up for it well,
Try my best to funny Yeah,
You forget for awhile
Wrote a song for you Honey,
You should laugh so you don't,
Laugh so you don't cry.

So things are going pretty well, but I wanted to post this sweet song to remind you all of the good times we had with Andy Davis. Remember the time we went to the concert in the BBB and he forgot his own words and I shouted them out to him? Haha, then later that night the EX was mad at PP cause she Loooooved Andy Davis.

Since my last post in May, I've been thinking more and more about what I want to do with my life. I am certain that God has called me to ministry with Youth in a Church setting, but I also feel like he doesn't want that to be the only thing I focus on, which is why I am completely satisfied with being part time at a small church, rather than full time at a larger one. The Apostle Paul continued to work as a tentmaker even though other preachers let the churches that were able support them, it was important for him to work with his hands, to make money outside of the church, and it is for me too. If ministry is my primary income, "ministry" is just a title for my job, and no longer it's purpose.

At the same time, I don't think I'll ever feel satisfied at a job that is just to make money, I have to have some connection. I've been looking at different non profits and community connecting organizations, and in talking to people at Room in the Inn, I learned that the best way to get a job in one of these is to volunteer there. So starting in January, I am going to be teaching a "Dramatic Expression" class to any interested homeless individuals. The class will meet once a week for an hour and I can pretty much teach whatever I want. I was told some of them can't read, so script work would be out, and that many of them will not be consistent, so any ideas of putting on an elaborate production are kind of on the back burner for now until I find out for myself. They did tell me that you aquire a fan base after awhile, and will have some consistent people. I can't remember the last time I was this excited about something. I think it was when I moved back here to start work at the church!

Several people we know have taught classes there: Caleb Haynes, Carmen, and I think Buffy did during college, so I know that I am capable, though I have my doubts about myself as a teacher. I've been thinking about finding a place where I can volunteer on my own time for quite awhile. I arrange quite a few service opportunities for my group, but it's been a long time since I did something on my own, and I've never taken on something this big, especially since I can teach it as long as I want, I could teach it for the rest of my life if I wanted to, I think.

God has blessed me with so many fantastic friends and family members, he has given us all hearts for him and a passion for living like Jesus did. It is amazing what He is doing in our lives right now, what with Emily and Poland, Karye and her OFFICE!!!! Erin getting ready for a trip next year, and so much more. I love you all so much! Oh and I think Matt reads these occasionally too, that half-marathon runner, who'da thunk it?!

But seriously guys, I love you all so much. I'm ready to have a big giant Monkey Party and have you all over!! When I buy that house, will you all live there?
